Former Saint Brandon Browner Facing Attempted Murder Charges

The news continues to get worse for a former New Orleans Saints defensive back.

Former Saints cornerback Brandon Browner is now facing four felony and two misdemeanor charges, including attempted murder, related to an alleged house break-in that took place on Sunday.

Browner was arrested Sunday after police responded to a break-in of a home in which a woman alleged that Browner forced her to stay inside the home, where he physically harmed her and threatened her life.

The victim also claims that Browner stole a Rolex watch before police could arrive.

The 33-year old Browner was scheduled to be arraigned at the Ponoma (California) Superior Court Tuesday.

Browner, who played one season for the Saints, was arrested on May 6 for battery and child endangerment, for which he pleaded no contest.

That arrest, prior to his latest on Sunday, marked the third in the last nine months for Browner, who was arrested on drug charges in October, after being arrested for making criminal threats in September.

In 2016, Browner was accused of assaulting the grandfather of his child, but no charges were filed.

A native of Los Angles, California, Browner accumulated 187 tackles and 12 interceptions in his 6-year NFL career, which included stops with the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, and New England Patriots, as well as the Saints.

In 2015, his lone season with the Saints, Browner started all 16 games, compiling 76 tackles and one interception, while serving as a co-captain.
