Cardinals Down Red Sox, 4-2, Even Up World Series
The 2013 Major League Baseball World Series is now even, at one game apiece, after the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Boston Red Sox, 4-2, on Thursday evening at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts.
St. Louis jumped on top in the top half of the fourth, when Yadier Molina grounded out to second, scoring Matt Holliday, to take a 1-0 lead.

Boston took the lead in the bottom of the sixth, when David Ortiz belted a two-run home run, his second of the series, giving the home team a 2-1 advantage.
The Cardinals rallied for three run in the top half of the seventh, courtesy of a sacrifice fly by Matt Carpenter, a throwing error by Boston pitcher Craig Breslow, and an RBI single by Carlos Beltran.
From there, the St. Louis bullpen, including Trevor Rosenthal, who pitched the ninth, closed the door on Boston, nailing down the 4-2 win, and evening up the best-of-seven game series, 1-1.
Beltran led the way at the plate for the Cardinals, with two hits and an RBI, while Ortiz' home run paced the Red Sox.
Michael Wacha recorded the win for St. Louis, while John Lackey suffered the loss for Boston.

The series now shifts to St. Louis for games three, four, and five, Saturday-Monday.
Game three is scheduled for Saturday night at 7:07 (cdt).
If necessary, game six, as well as game seven, would be back in Boston.
