Jay Wright scored a career high 20 points to lead four Louisiana players in double figures as the Ragin' Cajuns moved to 2-0 Sun Belt Conference play by pounding Troy 91-64 before a season high 3,973 at the CAJUNDOME.

Wright was 8-11 from the field, including 3-4 from three point range. Kasey Shepherd scored 19 points on 7-11 shooting, while Shawn Long added 18 and Brian Williams 15 for Louisiana (8-5, 2-0).

Freshman Wesley Person scored a career high 28 points for Troy (5-6, 0-2).  CHris Bilbo was the only other player in double digits with ten.  Louisiana held leading scorer Musa Abdul-Aleem to just two field goals and eight points on the night.

With the game tied at 28 with 3:39 to go, Wright hit a jumper, got a steal and a dunk and assisted Long on a dunk to give the Cajuns a 34-28 lead with 2:16 to play until intermission. After Person cut the lead to three with a triple, Bryce Washington scored inside and Long hit a three pointer to increase the lead to 39-31 at the break.

The Cajuns opened the second half on a 12-3 run, with Shepherd accounting for six of the points to blow the game open, 51-34 and Troy got no closer than eleven points the rest of the way.  With the score 53-42, the Cajuns went on another run, this one 13-3  to increase the lead to 66-45.  The Cajuns led by as many as 30 points (83-53) in the second half.

Louisiana scorched the nets at a 67.7% pace (21-31) in the second half and hit 57.4% (35-61) on the night.  Troy was 24-54 (44.4%), but made only 3-16 from beyond the arc.

THe Cajuns outrebounded the Trojans 33-29 and forced 19 Troy turnovers, while committing just nine on the evening.  With 15 assists on the night, the Cajuns now have more assists than turnovers on the season.

Louisiana travels to Boone, NC to take on Appalachian State, a 74-73 road winner over Arkansas State on Monday night.  Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 pm (CST).
