Blake Trahan Stats Update
A former Louisiana Ragin' Cajun baseball star is just one step away from playing Major League Baseball.
Shortstop Blake Trahan, who played for the Cajuns for three seasons, from 2013-2015, has played the entire 2018 season in Louisville, the Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds.
A native of Kinder, La., Trahan, the 2015 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, is hitting a .243, to go along with two home runs and 28 runs batted in 119 games so far this season.
Keep in mind, there's only a couple of weeks left on the minor league schedule.
Granted, that .243 batting average isn't spectacular, but Trahan does have a .329 on-base percentage, and he's fielding really well, so he's having a solid campaign.
A lot of baseball people believe that he will make that elusive final step some day, and play in the big leagues.
A 3rd-round draft choice of the Reds in 2015, Trahan has hit a .249, to go along with 9 home runs, 117 runs batted in, and 52 stolen bases over four seasons in the minor leagues.
We wish Blake the best of luck in the second half of the season, and hope he gets a call up to the Reds soon.
