When Was The Last Time The Saints Won A Preseason Game?
When was the last time the New Orleans Saints were victorious in the preseason?
The answer would be in the third week of the 2014 preseason, when the Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts, 23-17.
That's right, the Saints have lost 9-consecutive preseason games, and have gone winless over their last two preseasons.
Last season, the Saints went 0-4, and were outscored, 100-59, losing to the New England Patriots (34-22), Houston Texans (16-9), Pittsburgh Steelers (27-14), and (23-14).
Does that mean anything?
Is it really all that important for the Saints to snap their preseason losing streak?
Probably not.
Sure, the preseason means a lot to the handful of guys trying to make the team, but the outcome of games really means nothing.
That being said, the Saints lost their first two games of the regular season in each of the last three seasons, and lost their first three in each of the last two seasons, so it might be nice just to play it safe and get a win or two this preseason.
The Saints will try to change their preseason fortunes tonight, when they travel to Cleveland, Ohio, to take on the Cleveland Browns in their first preseason game of 2017.
Kickoff time at FirstEnergy Stadium is scheduled for 7 o'clock.
