UL Softball Captures Tourney Title

The 17th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team claimed the 25th Annual Louisiana Classics Softball Tournament, on Sunday, defeating the Sam Houston st. Bearkats, 4-1, at Lamson Park. Ragincajuns.com has the story, below.

The 17^th ranked Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns used another solid pitching performance to take the title at the 25^th Annual Louisiana Classics with a 4-1 win over Sam Houston State on Sunday afternoon.

Ashley Brignac (2-0) started her second game of the weekend, picking up a win in a two-hit, complete game effort.  The junior gave up just one run while striking out seven with just two walks.

Sarah Draheim and Nerissa Myers each had two hits for the Cajuns who had seven as a team.  Senior Gabriele Bridges was walked four times on the day and scored two runs.
