Top 5 New Orleans Saints Tight Ends Of All-Time
Who are the top 5 tight ends in the history of the New Orleans Saints?
Yesterday, we unveiled the five best defensive linemen in franchise history.
Today, we go back to the offensive side of the ball.
1)---JIMMY GRAHAM---A third-round pick by the Saints in the 2010 NFL Draft, Graham paid major dividends before being traded prior to the 2015 campaign. A three-time Pro Bowl selection (2011, 2013, and 2014) while with the Saints, Graham put up some pretty impressive numbers. Over his 5 seasons in New Orleans, Graham appeared in 78 games, including 50 as a starter, accumulating 386 receptions for 4,752 and 51 touchdowns.
2)---HOBY BRENNER---A one-time Pro Bowl selection (1987), Brenner was a solid blocker and receiver for many years, and a key contributor on many really good New Orleans teams during the Jim Mora era. In 13 NFL seasons, all with the Saints, Brenner caught 267 passes for 3,849 yards and 21 touchdowns.
3)---HENRY CHILDS---Inducted into the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame in 1994, Childs was a major receiving threat in a pretty good Saints offense, which featured the likes of Archie Manning, Chuck Muncie, Tony Galbreath, and Wes Chandler. A Pro Bowl selection in the 1979 season, Childs played in 87 games for the Saints, hauling in 207 passes for 3,224 yards and 27 touchdowns.
4)---DAVE PARKS---Probably forgotten by many Saints fans, Parks played five years in New Orleans, appearing in 63 games, while accumulating 149 receptions for 2,254 yards and 16 touchdowns.
5)---JEREMY SHOCKEY---He only played three years for the Saints (2008-2010), but was a major part in the 2009 Super Bowl team, and put up some nice stats during his relatively short time in New Orleans. In three seasons with the Saints, Shockey compiled 139 catches for 1,460 yards and 6 touchdowns.
