The 2019 high school football season is very near, and three local prep standouts were recently given a preseason honor by a major publication.

St. Thomas More quarterback Caleb Holstein, Westgate receiver Kayshon Boutte, and Lafayette Christian Academy receiver Sage Ryan were all named to the MaxPreps Preseason All-Louisiana Football Team, which was released on Wednesday.

Holstein and Boutte were each named to the first-team, while Ryan was tabbed to the second-team.

Holstein and Boutte are both seniors this season, while Ryan is a junior.

Holstein, who has committed to play at Harvard, was named the Class 4A Player of the Year last season, after passing for 3,854 yards and 47 touchdowns.

Boutte, who has committed to play his college football at LSU, caught 43 passes for 674 yards and 8 touchdowns last season.

Ryan was named to the Class 1A All-State team as a kick returner last season.
