Saints Work Out Numerous Cornerbacks
Four defensive backs have worked out for the New Orleans Saints over the past couple of days, with another scheduled to audition in the near future.
The Saints are specifically searching for help at the cornerback position, due to nickel cornerback Patrick Robinson's broken ankle, which has placed him on the injured reserve list, as well as the less than stellar play by some of the healthy defensive backs on their roster.
The 5-foot-10, 202-pound Moore has not played in the NFL since New Orleans released him on December 21 of 2017.
Meanwhile, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Josh Robinson, the lone non-cornerback to audition, worked out for the Saints on Tuesday.
The 27-year old Robinson played four years for the Minnesota Vikings (2012-2015), before spending the 2016-2017 campaigns with the Bucs.
A four-year veteran, the 28-year old Nelson was with the Saints during the preseason, but did not make the opening week roster.
In addition, the Saints have also scheduled a workout for cornerback David Amerson.
The 26-year old Amerson has spent parts of three seasons with the Washington Redskins (2013-2015), and parts of three others with the Oakland Raiders (2015-2017).
