Saints Sign QB Luke McCown To One Year Deal

The New Orleans Saints have inked backup quarterback Luke McCown to a one-year contract.

McCown served as Drew Brees' primary backup last year, as well as the holder on field goal and extra point attempts.

Last preseason, McCown completed 32 passes for 378 yards and 4 touchdowns. He saw little time at quarterback last year, accumulating minimal stats (one pass attempt, -4 yards rushing).

McCown and Tulane alum Ryan Griffin served as the #2 and #3 quarterbacks on the New Orleans depth chart last season. Depending on the draft, it's possible the two could remain in the same role for 2014.
