Saints Sign CB Kayvon Webster
Cornerback will be a position in New Orleans Saints training camp to follow closely.
A deep pocket of players at that position in New Orleans just got on deeper, as the team signed Kayvon Webster earlier today, a deal first reported by ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Webster joins a pool of Saints CBs that include Pro Bowler Marshon Lattimore, starter Eli Apple, P.J. Williams, Patrick Robinson, Justin Hardee, Ken Crawley, return specialist Marcus Sherels and rookie 4th round pick Chauncey Gardner-Johnson.
Webster, 28, has played both slot and outside cornerback during his career.
Drafted in the 3rd round of the 2013 draft by the Denver, Webster played in 54 games for the Broncos, winning a Super Bowl in 2015, and voted Special Teams captain by his teammates in 2016.
He signed with the Rams in 2017, starting 11 games before suffering a ruptured Achilles that landed him on IR.
Last season, he signed with the Texans, landing on IR again early in the season with a quad injury. He returned late in the season from IR, but quickly re-injured his quad, going back to IR.
Webster tried out for the Saints over the weekend, impressing the staff enough to earn an offseason roster spot.
