Saints Release John Greco, Re-sign John Hughes
The Saints made a couple of moves on Wednesday, releasing an offensive lineman, while re-signing a defensive lineman.
The team released guard John Greco, after re-signing defensive tackle John Hughes, who they just released as a vested veteran on Monday.
A 10-year veteran, Greco joined the Saints after Week 4, but has not been active for a game this season.
The 32-year old Greco played with the St. Louis Rams from 2008-2010, before playing for the Cleveland Browns from 2011-2016.
A native of Ravenna, Ohio, Greco has appeared in 111 games, including 70 as a starter.
Hughes spent the preseason with the Saints, compiling 4 tackles in 4 preseason games, prior to being released in September. He was re-signed on October 4, before being released again on Monday.
The 28-year old Hughes, who played in one game with the Saints this season, is a former third-round draft choice by the Cleveland Browns in the 2012 NFL Draft.
The 6-foot-2, 320-pound Hughes, has appeared in 59 career games, including 10 starts, with both the Browns and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, compiling 116 tackles, including 5 sacks.
