Saints Part Ways With 5 Assistant Coaches

Longtime linebackers coach Joe Vitt, special teams coordinator Greg McMahon, assistant special teams coach Stan Kwan, defensive line coach Bill Johnson and defensive assistant linebackers coach James Willis (former Ragin' Cajun defensive coordinator) will not be back.
News of the firings was first reported by Alex Marvez of The Sporting News.
Garland Gillen of WVUE-TV reports Vitt and the Saints mutually agreed to part ways, while Johnson's contract was up and he was not resigned.
With Vitt and McMahon's departure, only two assistants on the Saints were part of Sean Payton's first season in 2006 in current offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael and defensive coordinator Dennis Allen.
