Saints and NFC Fall Short In Pro Bowl
The Pro Bowl is always a good time for the players as they get to spend time with their families and play in a fun game. That was the case for the Saints QB Drew Brees as he got the start for the game and had his boys were on the sidelines helping out and having fun.
The NFC got out to a quick lead as Drew Brees started the scoring with a TD pass and they got out to a 20-3 lead but the AFC came storming back and ended scoring late in the 4th quarter to win the Pro Bowl 24-23.
The Saints had 7 players named to the Pro Bowl and the Saints coaching staff coached the NFC. All of the Saints players had fun on social media leading up to the game. The 7 players that played in the Pro Bowl were Drew Brees, Mark Ingram, Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas, Cameron Jordan, Marshon Lattimore, and Terron Armstead. The Saints had 2 rookies make it to the Pro Bowl in Lattimore and Kamara.
All 7 players played in the game but Drew Brees provided the biggest impact as he threw for a touchdown. Brees played the entire 1st quarter and 1 drive in the 2nd quarter as he threw for 66 yards on 6/9 passing and 1 TD. Ingram had 5 carries for 21 yards and Kamara had 4 carries for 13 yards as well as 4 catches for 36 yards. Thomas finished with 1 catch for 6 yards. Lattimore was his usual self as he knocked away passes from the AFC QBs.
The good news for Saints fans is that no one got injured and they can finally move to the offseason even though it still stings. The biggest and most important thing for the Saints to do now is get Brees a new contract and do well in the NFL draft.
