Gunner Leger Named One Of Collegiate Baseball’s Player Of The Week
Louisiana Ragin' Cajun pitcher Gunner Leger tossed a masterpiece last Friday, and the college baseball world took notice.
College Baseball Newspaper released their list of 10 national players of the week today, and Leger is justifiably included.
In a 10-0 win over St. Peter's Friday night, Leger tossed 8.2 innings without allowing a hit.
Having faced the minimum with 2 out in the top of the 9th, freshmen Brian Turton broke up the no hitter in his first collegiate at bat with a blooper to shallow center field.
While Leger didn't earn the no-hitter, the performance remains top notch.
He fanned a season high 9 batters in the win.
