Former Cajuns LB Justin Anderson Signs With Saints
Former Louisiana Ragin' Cajun linebacker Justin Anderson has signed with the New Orleans Saints, joining the team at training camp in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia at The Greenbriar Resort.
Anderson has signed contracts with 4 NFL teams in the last sixteen months, inking an undrafted free agent deal with the New York Giants after the 2014 draft. He spent time on the practice squad and active roster in New York before being waived last November.
In December, he signed with the Minnesota Vikings practice squad, spending 4 months with the squad until they waived him in March.
Earlier this month, Anderson signed with the Dallas Cowboys, but was waived with an injury designation.
Anderson comes to a Saints squad who is missing several camp bodies at the linebacker spot. Veteran linebackers Dannell Ellerbe and Ramon Humber were injured in the preseason opener on Thursday, while Ronald Powell has practiced since early last week.
Saints linebackers coach James Willis served as Justin Anderson's defensive coordinator at Louisiana during Anderson's senior season.
