Every so often, you'll see an athlete from Louisiana appear on ESPN. Usually, it's because a Cajuns athlete made a Sportscenter Top 10 play or because one of the state's college teams is playing on the Worldwide Leader.

This time, it's because the network wanted to gauge the state's excitement over the New Orleans Pelicans landing the first overall pick in Thursday's NBA Draft and, with it, the right to select Zion Williamson.

While in the Pelican State, ESPN's Marty Smith paid a visit to Vermilion Parish. He stopped in Kaplan at Crawfish Haven and Ms. Rose's Bed & Breakfast, where he ran a few crawfish traps with Barry Toups, and discussed basketball with St.Thomas More head basketball coach (and Meaux native) Danny Broussard. Broussard, a four-time state champion as coach at STM, gave his thoughts on Williamson coming to New Orleans and what it means for the city and basketball in Louisiana.

Broussard was complimentary of Smith and the ESPN crew. He tweeted about the experience after filming was completed Sunday.
