After receiving some criticism for appearing in a promotional ad for "Focus On The Family" (FOTF), Saints QB Drew Brees was attacked for being anti-LGBTQ.

Brees promoted "Bring Your Bible To School Day" for FOTF.

“One of my favorite verses in the bible is 2 Corinthians 5:7 ‘For we live by faith, not by sight,’ so I want to encourage you to live out your faith on Bring Your Bible to School Day, and share God’s love with friends," said Brees in the ad. "You’re not alone.”

His statement isn't anti-LGBTQ.

However, according to wgno.com, FOTF is "well known for promoting methods of 'leaving homosexuality' designed to convert LGBTQ people to heterosexuality".

Brees spoke to the New Orleans media this afternoon, stating he was unaware of any anti-LGBT legislation by Focus On The Family.

Brees released a video on his Instagram page this afternoon to make it clear he is not anti-LGBTQ, stating he loves, respects and accepts all individuals.
