Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun football team returns to the gridiron on Tuesday evening, when coach Mark Hudspeth’s squad plays host to the Arkansas St. Red Wolves in a key Sun Belt Conference match-up.

The Cajun Harley Davidson Tailgate begins at 5 pm on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, with the rest of the network, including Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, joining the broadcast in time for the Hampton Toyota Pregame Show, which will begin at 6 o’clock

Kickoff is set for 7 o’clock.

The two schools were co-champions in the Sun Belt Conference a season ago, and each program has appeared in three-consecutive bowl games.

Louisiana, who defeated Texas St., 34-10, last Tuesday, is currently 3-3, overall, and 2-0 in Sun Belt Conference play, while Arkansas St., who was idle last week, will come in with an overall record of 4-2, along with a 2-0 league mark.

Offensively, the Cajuns are averaging 26.2 points, 413.2 yards, 218.3 passing yards, and 194.8 rushing yards per game, while the Red Wolves are averaging 29.5 points, 452.2 total yards, 233.0 passing yards, and 219.2 rushing yards a contest.

Defensively, Louisiana is allowing 30.8 points, 426.7 total yards, 170.5 rushing yards, and 256.2 passing yards per game, while Arkansas St. is giving up an average of 20.5 points, 360.2 yards of total offense, 114.7 rushing yards, and 245.5 passing yards an outing.

The Cajuns are led by senior quarterback Terrance Broadway, who has thrown for 1,117 yards and seven touchdowns, with another 344 rushing yards to his credit, along with sophomore running back Elijah McGuire, who has 395 rushing yards and four touchdowns, and junior receiver Al Riles, who has 18 catches for 240 yards.

The Red Wolves are paced by junior quarterback Fredi Knighton, who has thrown for 1,291 yards and seven touchdowns, while rushing for another 333 yards and six scores, along with junior running back Michael Gordon, who has 441 rushing yards and three touchdowns, and junior receiver J.D. McKissic, who has accumulated 383 receiving yards on 35 catches.

The game marks the first of two-straight that UL will play at home.

Louisiana leads the all-time series, 22-19-1, including a 23-7 win in Jonesboro, Arkansas a year ago.
