Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun football team returns to the gridiron on Saturday evening, when coach Mark Hudspeth’s squad travels to Las Cruces, New Mexico to take on the New Mexico St. Aggies in a key Sun Belt Conference match-up.

The Cajun Harley Davidson Tailgate begins at 5 pm on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, with the rest of the network, including Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, joining the broadcast in time for the Hampton Toyota Pregame Show, which will begin at 6 o’clock

Kickoff is set for 7 o’clock.

Louisiana, who defeated South Alabama, 19-9, last Saturday, is currently 5-3, overall, and 4-0 in Sun Belt Conference play, while New Mexico St., who lost to Texas St., 37-29, last week, will come in with an overall record of 2-7, along with a 1-4 league mark.

Offensively, the Cajuns are averaging 28.9 points, 426.5 yards, 203.5 passing yards, and 223.0 rushing yards per game, while the Aggies are averaging 25.1 points, 430.4 total yards, 253.2 passing yards, and 177.2 rushing yards a contest.

Defensively, Louisiana is allowing 29.3 points, 436.4 total yards, 168.8 rushing yards, and 268.6 passing yards per game, while New Mexico St. is giving up an average of 36.3 points, 469.7 yards of total offense, 326.2 rushing yards, and 143.4 passing yards an outing.

The Cajuns are led by senior quarterback Terrance Broadway, who has thrown for 1,435 yards and seven touchdowns, with another 488 rushing yards to his credit, along with sophomore running back Elijah McGuire, who has 792 rushing yards and nine touchdowns, and junior receiver Al Riles, who has 20 catches for 235 yards.

The Aggies are paced by sophomore quarterback Tyler Rodgers, who has thrown for 2,159 yards and 14 touchdowns, along with freshman running back Larry Rose, who has 731 rushing yards and six touchdowns, and sophomore receiver Teldrick Morgan, who has accumulated 745 receiving yards on 63 catches, six of them for touchdowns.

The Cajuns lead the all-time series, 5-3, and have won two of last three meetings, including a 49-35 win in Lafayette in 2013 .
