Sun Belt Conference.

In softball, Ashley Brignac has won the award for the seventh time this season.  Brignac, a junior from River Ridge, dominated Louisiana-Monroe over the weekend.  Saturday she pitched a no-hitter and struck out thirteen in the championship-clinching game in the first game of a doubleheader.  Sunday, she threw another shutout against ULM, allowing only two hits and striking out 13.  Brignac is now 27-5 on the season.

And, for only the second time all year, a Ragin' Cajun pitcher has been honored by the Sun Belt Conference.

Junior righthander Jordan Nicholson wins the baseball award this week for his Saturday performance against Troy.  The Ruston native was dominant against the league leaders, pitching the first complete game of his Cajuns' career.  Nicholson allowed just one unearned run on five hits in the Cajuns' 17-1 win over Troy on Saturday.  Nicholson did not walk a man and struck out seven while spinning the complete game with just 96 pitches. It was Nicholson's fourth win of the year and lowered his team-leading ERA to 2.24.

Taylor Hubbell is the only other Cajun to have been named Pitcher of the Week by the league this season.
