As the New Orleans Saints prepare to trim down their roster to 75 this week, 7 players sat out today's practice.

Starting left tackle Terron Armstead and rookie defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins are the two starters out of the group who missed practice.

Rankins is currently recovering from a broken fibula suffered two weeks ago. Armstead has dealt with an undisclosed injury throughout camp, leaving Friday night's game against the Steelers with a trainer.

Armstead's injury is not considered serious, according to multiple reports.

Also sitting out practice today was 2nd year running back/returner Marcus Murphy (pictured), who suffered a concussion in the 4th quarter Friday night, along with tight end Michael Hoomanawanui and defensive back Jimmy Pruitt. Hoomanawanui was helped off the field by trainers in the 1st quarter of Friday's game with an injury the team has not unveiled. Pruitt's ailment is also undisclosed at this time.

Linebacker Nate Stupar and cornerback Damian Swann missed today's practice, likely due to a heavy workload against Pittsburgh.

Rookie running back Daniel Lasco took a big hit to the head Friday, needing assistance to get off the field. However, he was back at practice today, good news for the 7th round rookie out of Cal.
