The New Orleans Pelicans picked up another win over the Grizzlies in the Smoothie King Center to keep them in the Western Conference playoff hunt.

With the 95-89 victory, the Pels improve to 34-29 overall and an impressive 22-11 at home in "The Blender." It's another chapter in their narrative of beating the good teams and playing down to lesser opponents, but we're not here to nitpick. Any time you defeat a team with a 44-18 record and the number two team in the West, that's something to take home to the missus.

Tyreke Evans certainly earned his steak, medium rare. The offensive-minded slasher put up 26 points (10-16 FG, 3-8 3pt, 3-4 FT) along with three rebounds and seven assists. He got involved defensively with three steals and a block as well to help lead the Pels to a crucial victory.

Healthy Anthony Davis proved again why he's worth the price of admission, posting a 23 point-10 rebound double-double. He spent a grueling 40 minutes on the court as well, which is a good sign for his health heading into crunch time of this season. Norris Cole came off the bench and provided solid minutes as well. His defense on Mike Conley at the end of the game forced an airball, and he collected 12 points and three assists too.

The last encouraging note came from Eric Gordon, who scored a very efficient 16 points, hitting four of his six shots from the floor and all five of his free throw attempts.

If New Orleans wants any chance of catching the Oklahoma City Thunder and sneak into the eighth spot for the Western Conference Playoffs, they might want to bottle what they had against Memphis. They played a top-playoff contender to the very last second and walked away with a victory. It's easy to criticize Monty Williams when things are going wrong, but how about a little credit for being where they are with the injuries they've dealt with?

Even if the Pelicans don't get into the playoffs, at least they're providing their fans with meaningful, exciting games down the stretch. After all, you could be the '76ers.
