Team USA Drops Australia, Advances To Semis

 LeBron James dropped a triple-double for Team USA helping the United States drop Australia out of the 2012 London Olympic Games with a dominating 119-86 victory.

Kobe Bryant (pictured left) led the United States in scoring for the first time in these games, scoring 20 points just one day after critics called for Coach K to replace him in the starting lineup with Andre Igoudala. Deron Williams led the bench with 18 points.

James paced the U.S. with his triple-double of 11 points, 11 assists, and 14 rebounds. Kevin Love had a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds. And New Orleans Hornets rookie Anthony Davis saw the floor, but only for the final 3 minutes, registering 3 rebounds in cleanup duty.

Team USA continued their habit of turning a close game into a rout. Wednesday afternoon, Austrailia was competitive, keeping the contest close up until the halfway point of the 3rd quarter. Then, the Americans flipped a switch and dominated the rest of the way.

Next up for the United States is a Semifinal matchup with Argentina, who edged Brazil today in quarterfinal action by the score of 82-77.
