The slop fest of a football game played in Hawaii yesterday between the NFC and AFC earned its best ratings in over a decade. The NFC defeated the AFC 55-41, but led 42-0 late in the second quarter. Here is more from the AP and cnnsi.com.

The Pro Bowl earned its highest television rating since 2000.

The NFC's sloppy 55-41 victory over the AFC on Sunday drew a 7.7 rating and 12 share on Fox. That's up 8 percent from last year, when the game first moved from after the Super Bowl to the week before it.

The market with the best share was actually New Orleans, where the game earned a 21.0/28.0 rating. Five Saints participated in the Pro Bowl. Drew Brees, Jahri Evans, Carl Nicks, Jonathan Vilma, and Roman Harper earned $40,000 each for the NFC's victory. Regardless of how boring  or ridiculous an exhibition game might be, the NFL still brings in the best TV ratings of all American sports, regardless of how the play on the field looks.
