Pelicans Star Anthony Davis Diagnosed With Left Abductor Strain

New Orleans Pelicans superstar and franchise player Anthony Davis withered in pain Friday night, after he hit the hardwood during a game in Utah against the Jazz.

After minimal contact with Derrick Favors as Davis positioned for a rebound, he hit the floor, curling his body inward, scaring anyone and everyone with stakes in the Pelicans franchise.

Davis was helped off the court, and reportedly was spotted in a wheel chair later that night.

Today, the Pelicans announced the MRI results of Davis' injury.

While many feared it would be season-ending, the results were negative, and Davis was diagnosed with a left abductor strain. He is officially OUT for tonight's game against the Golden State Warriors, but is listed as day-to-day moving forward.

There is no structural damage, which likely would've ended his season.

At 12-11, New Orleans currently sits at 8th place in the crowded Western Conference.

Tonight, they host the Golden State Warriors (8-6). Tip-off from the Smoothie King Center is set for 7:00.
