Number 2 on the list of highest paid public employees in the country is Kentucky men's basketball coach John Calipari ($7.75 million annually), followed by Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh ($7 million annually) at 3.

The top 36 highest paid public employees are a male coach in either NCAA football or basketball.

LSU head coach Ed Orgeron is 18th on the list with an average salary of $3.5 million.
