It didn't take long for Rafael Nadal to win another French Open championship.

Nadal, the world's #1 ranked player, won his 11th French Open title, cruising past Dominic Thiem, 6-4. 6-3. 6-2 Sunday at Roland Garros.

Overall, it's the 17th major for Nadal, who trails only Roger Federer among men's Grand Slam championships.

Thiem, an Austrian and the #7 seed, was playing in a major final for the first time.  But he couldn't solve the red clay specialist, who is now 11-0 in French finals and 86-2 overall.

Nadal broke the match open in the first set.  After Thiem drew even at 4-4, Nadal won seven straight games to take control.
