LSU’s Kristian Fulton Ruled Immediately Eligible by NCAA
LSU cornerback Kristian Fulton, whose appeal of his two year ban for tampering with a urine sample during a drug test was denied by the NCAA just two weeks ago, was ruled immediately eligible today by the NCAA.
LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva wrote a four page letter to the NCAA, stating Fulton should be ruled eligible because the NCAA was misinterpreting a rule. Alleva claimed the charge should have been "urine substitution" which carries a one year penalty, as opposed to "tampering" which carries a two year penalty.
The NCAA agreed. Fulton had already served 18 months of his suspension.
