The Chicago Bears believe in Jay Cutler.

Cutler, who was expected to become an unrestricted free agent, has agreed to a new seven year contract to stay with the Bears as their starting quarterback.

General Manager Phil Emery called the 2013 season Cutler's "best" thus far in his career.  Emery also praised Cutler's leadership, improvement and display of toughness, according to the report on espn.com.

Cutler, who battled injuries this season, finished with 2,621 yards, 19 touchdowns and twelve interceptions.

Financial terms were not disclosed.  However, it's believed the contract will put Cutler with a comparable salary to players like Philip Rivers, Matt Schaub, Matt Ryan and Eli Manning.
