On a night when the Memphis Grizzlies shot over 60% from the field, and 56.5% from three point range, the New Orleans Pelicans struggled to find a shooting rhythm. The end result, a 110-95 home loss for the Pelicans, giving the Grizzlies a 3-0 season series advantage.

"I wouldn't consider this a cluncker. It was just a team (Memphis) playing really good. They've  won 9 of 11," said Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry after the loss. "When they've got the inside outside game going, they're a really good team."

New Orleans didn't struggle throughout the game, taking several leads in the contest, including a 2 point lead with just over 7 minutes to play. However, a 24-6 run by the Grizzlies, led by Zach Randolph's scoring in the paint, coupled with Jeff Green and Vince Carter's shooting from beyond the arc helped the Grizzlies to a sizable lead and win.

Carter and Green scored 37 combined points off the bench. The entire Pelicans bench finished with 26.

Jrue Holiday struggled from the field (1-14), while Ryan Anderson got 1 clean look the entire night thanks to a smothering Grizzlies defense.

Anthony Davis led the Pelicans with 23 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Norris Cole scored 23 as the starting point guard to go with his 6 assists.

Randolph finished a double-double of 22 points and a dozen rebounds. Mike Conley chipped in a double-double as well (17 points, 10 rebounds).

"It was more about what they were doing and not as much what we weren't doing," explained Gentry. "They shot the ball very well."

The loss marks the end of a 7 game homestand for New Orleans, where the finished 5-2. Sporting an overall record of 18-29, the Pelicans are 4 games out of 8th place in the Western Conference.
