Ah, fantasy football is in the air and it's everyone's favorite day during the week leading up to the games, waiver wire Tuesday!

As we did last season I'll be breaking down the best players to add off the waiver wire to your fantasy football rosters on a weekly basis. Maybe there's an injury or a player who's just not performing up to expectations, dump them and find yourself a gem off the waiver wire that'll help you dominate.

Also, as a rule of thumb, if you're new to our weekly fantasy football column we don't look at players off the waiver wire who are owned in more than 50% of leagues and we use ESPN.

This week, we've got a couple of players dealing with injuries and we're going to need to replace them because some of them are going to miss a couple of weeks.

Matthew Stafford, DET (26% Owned)

The Detriot Lions have been able to move the ball through the air a bit here in the early going of 2019 and Stafford has himself a good match-up this week against the Philadelphia Eagles ranked 25th in overall defense. The Eagles secondary has been something of a mess and they allowed a couple of big plays last weekend against the Atlanta passing game. Stafford has five total touchdowns so far this season and has averaged just over 21 fantasy points this season.

Jacoby Brissett, IND (12% Owned)

Having to replace Andrew Luck is not an easy task but thus far Brissett has played alright and the Colts are 1-1 on this early season with the weapons around him elevating their games. The Colts will play their first home game this weekend when they take on the Falcons and already Brissett has five total touchdowns, averaged just about 16 fantasy points a week and hasn't even scored a rushing touchdown yet which you know will come.

Jaylen Samuels, PIT (26% Owned)

James Connor was forced to exit last weekends contest early due to a knee injury, the reports are that he'll be okay but in this case, I'd say it's better to be safe than sorry. If you own James Connor it would be smart to grab Samuels especially now with Mason Rudolph as the quarterback, the Steelers are probably going to look to lean on the running game a bit more now than usual. Pittsburgh really likes Samuel so if anything were to happen to Connor you'd be prepared for a solid back-up plan.

Frank Gore, BUF (16% Owned)

Ah, the ageless wonder that is Frank Gore, the youngster Devin Singletary has looked good thus far after Buffalo cut LeSean McCoy right before the start of the season. However, Singletary exited with a hamstring injury after scoring a touchdown last weekend and Gore stepped into the lead dog role once again in his career. Gore actually performed pretty well as he carried 19 times for 68 yards and a score. He's not a great PPR play for either of your RB spots but if you're in need of help at your flex position this might be your answer.

Nelson Agholor, PHI (4% Owned)

The top two Philly targets departed the game early Sunday night for the Eagles in Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson who are both scheduled to miss two games according to reports. This news opens the door very widely for Nelson Agholor to step into a prime receiving roll in this offense led by quarterback Carson Wentz. Agholor put up a good game as a result by hauling in eight catches for 108 yards and a score, buy-in on some Agholor stock and take advantage while you can, especially if you own either of the previously mentioned Philly WR's.

Deebo Samuel, SF (13% Owned)

Well, the hype train certainly has been slow to leave the station when it comes to Dante Pettis in the SF 49ers offense but Deebo Samuel has looked quite explosive this season. Week one was slow for most of the SF offense but week two picked up in a nice way for Jimmy Garapolo and Samuel has he recorded five catches for 87 yards and a touchdown. There's a chance that he could be relied upon as the guy within this offense you're most comfortable starting on a weekly basis.

Best of luck in week three.
