Ah, fantasy football is in the air and it's everyone's favorite day during the week leading up to the games, Waiver Wire Tuesday.

As we did last season I'll be breaking down the best players to add off the waiver wire to your fantasy football rosters on a weekly basis. Maybe there's an injury or a player who's just not performing up to expectations, dump them and find yourself a gem off the waiver wire that'll help you dominate.

Also, as a rule of thumb, if you're new to our weekly fantasy football column we don't look at players off the waiver wire who are owned in more than 50% of leagues and we use ESPN.

This week begins the dreaded bye weeks but thankfully there are only two teams with Sunday off this week. In addition, we've got a couple of players dealing with injuries, SAQUON, and we're going to need to replace them because some of them are going to miss a couple of weeks.

BYE WEEK: New York Jets, San Fransisco 49ers

Happy hunting.

Wayne Gallman, NYG (2% Owned)

Oh boy, Saquon Barkley owners are all in their feels this week after the big, talented back sustained a high ankle sprain on Sunday and now all are scrambling to the waiver wire to see if backup Wayne Gallman is available or not. Well, you're in luck he should be as he's owned in just 2% of leagues right now. Barkley should be out 6-8 weeks and in that time the lead back duties will fall on Gallman, don't expect him to be a stud but if Daniel Jones can play as he did on Sunday that should help open some things up for him. He's a strong flex consideration as of now, grab him.

Darrell Williams, KC (2.5% Owned)

The Kansas City Chiefs backfield right now is very murky and muddy and riddled with guys who are banged up. The original starter Damien Williams has been hampered with a knee contusion and LeSean McCoy had an early exit on Sunday after aggravating an ankle injury. So, that leaves us with the South Florida product Darrell Williams who racked up 109 total scrimmage yards last week and should get the nod to start if both Damien and Shady aren't able to go again. As I said, this is a tough situation with the Chiefs backfield right now so unless you're in a deep league or own either of the other two backs I wouldn't make this your highest priority on the waiver wire this week.

Rex Burkhead, NE (22% Owned)

The New England backfield isn't one I normally pull from or trust as Bill Belichick is so unpredictable when it comes to using running backs. Burkhead was a great play last weekend against the New York Jets as James White and his wife welcomed their newest addition of the family into the world (congrats to the White family). He grabbed himself a rushing touchdown and will obviously lose some work when White returns or will he? That's how frustrating it can be to own stock in the Patriots running backs because I could sit here and say White will take back over his receiving roll and Burkhead won't be as much of a factor but I honestly can't say that. So, for now, I'd say roster Rex if you're in a league that's 12 or larger because you just never know what's going to end up happening.

Mecole Hardman, KC (45% Owned)

I know we've talked about Hardman on this column before but I thought we should bring him back up after back-to-back weeks with a touchdown. He's also playing in the best offense in the league without its top skill player so the opportunities with Patrick Mahomes are going to be there. The Chiefs will be facing the Detriot Lions who rank 22nd against the pass this week.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, GB (49% Owned)

The Green Bay Packers really haven't gotten going much on the offensive side of the football while the defense has been balling out so there isn't much panic from a Packers standpoint just yet. However, from a fantasy perspective, its been frustrating seeing as how Devante Adams doesn't yet have a touchdown through three games but MVS scored last week on a free play bomb from Aaron Rodgers. He finished the game Sunday with six catches on 10 targets for 99 yards and the score, he's the Green Bay deep threat in the offense. He's definitely in the flex conversation for this week on a short week going up against the 29th rank pass defense in the league in the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night.

DJ Chark, JAX (41% Owned)

The connection with mustache rocking, jort wearing rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew is real and after three games you might start to really believe in it. It also seems like the speedy wide receiver is super trendy and they've been delivering results whether it be Hollywood Brown, Tyreek Hill, MVS, Hardman, etc. DJ Chark is no exception to this with elite speed and it has been on full display this season hauling in 15 catches, 277 yards, and three scores. The Jags have seen the ball spread around a little bit but Chark has been the most explosive option.

Will Dissly, SEA (28% Owned)

Points are points are points and that's exactly what it came down to with Dissly who scored a late touchdown in meaningless time against the Saints last week. The score was his third in two weeks and he'll be facing the most vulnerable pass defense in the league to date in the Arizona Cardinals this weekend. If you're looking for a streaming option for George Kittle take a flyer on this cat.

Best of luck in week four.
