The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns knew that they would have a big test in facing Arizona State in Tempe. They Cajuns wanted to slow things down on defense but the Sun Devils proved to be too much especially in the first half causing the Cajuns to turn the ball over and get into foul trouble. Arizona State defeated Louisiana 77-65.

The Cajuns got into some foul trouble early as Dou Gueye and Trajan Wesley both received 3 fouls in the first half. The Cajuns also turned the ball over 13 times in the first half and the Sun Devils were able to capitalize off of the Cajuns mistakes with 18 points off of turnovers in the first half while the Cajuns had 0.

The Cajuns were able to slow things down a bit as they had only 7 turnovers in the 2nd half compared to the 13 in the first half. They were down by as much as 19 in the 2nd half but they were able to get it down to a 10 point deficit. The Cajuns were led in scoring by Cedric Russell with 16 points. The Cajuns actually shot better from the field than the Sun Devils but the Sun Devils Romello Whit had a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds.

With the Loss, the Cajuns move to 5-4 on the year. They will take a break for finals but then they will travel to face Louisiana in Ruston on December 14th. The Cajuns will start conference play against Arkansas State in Jonesboro on December 18th.
