Jason Dufner Takes First Career Major with PGA Win
Jason Dufner won his first major golf title yesterday, shooting a 2 under par 68 to win the PGA title by two strokes over Jim Furyk.
Dufner finished with a ten under par score of 270.
The tournament was won on the front nine, when Dufner one-putted six consecutive greens. He birdied the eighth hole, while Furyk bogeyed number nine for a two shot margin at the turn.
The two men kept pace on the back nine, each making one birdie and each having a bogey on 18.
Two years ago in Atlanta, Dufner blew a four shot lead in the PGA with four holes to play and lost the title in a playoff. There was no such fade this time as he claimed the Wanamaker Trophy.
