Warriors Runaway With Game 2 Of NBA Finals, Top Cavs 122-103
Steph Curry set an NBA Finals record with 9 made three-pointers, scoring 33 total points, propelling the Golden State Warriors to a thorough 122-103 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, taking a 2-0 series lead.
While Cleveland was able to cut into the Golden State lead in the second half several times, it never felt like the Cavs had a chance in game 2.
Kevin Durant scored 26, while Klay Thompson added 20 for the Warriors, but Curry earned Oracle Arena's loudest ovations with circus 3 pointers that he's made a career of highlights out of.
"He was tremendous," said Warriors head coach Steve Kerr of Curry. "Nine 3s and (he) seemed to hit a big shot every time we needed one. Yeah, he was fantastic."
Golden State has never lost an NBA Finals game when Durant, Thompson and Curry all at least score 20.
LeBron James led Cleveland with 29 points in 44 minutes, dishing out 13 assists and grabbing 9 rebounds. Kevin Love added 22.
The series now shifts to Cleveland for game 3 on Wednesday night. Tip-off is set for 8:00.
