If you were watching the Royals-A's American League Wild Card game last night, you may have seen a young woman holding up a sign that said "If we win, he's buying me a puppy" with an arrow pointing to her boyfriend.

It was reported by some twitter accounts that Katie Castan and her boyfriend left by the tenth inning, but as it turned out, they had moved to the fountain area in the seventh inning to get a drink and change the karma for the Royals, who were trailing at the time.

Well, Katie is getting the puppy.

But yahoosports.com is reporting it was a deal that was made during the summer.  Castan wanted to change the channel during a Royals game.  Her boyfriend, Joe Onofrio, made a deal.  He said if she'd watch the games with him and could name ten players on the Royals' team by the end of the season, he'd get her a puppy provided the Royals either won the division or the wild card game.

Katie said its was likely they would adopt a dog from the local shelter.
