Britain was nervous.

Second seed and favorite son Andy Murray was down two sets to none in his quarterfinal match at Wimbledon on Wednesday.  But Murray fought back and defeated Fernando Verdasco in five sets to advance to the semifinals.

Murray will next meet #24 Jerzy Janowicz, who won in straight sets over Lukasz Kubot.

Meanwhile, top seed Novan Djokovic breezed into the semis with a straight sets win over #7 Tomas Berdych.  His opponent will be Juan Martin del Potro, who hyperextended his left knee just five points into the match, but fought off the injury to vanquish #4 David Ferrer, also in straight sets.

After losing the first two sets, Murray had to fight off a break point in the third, but fought back to win the game and take a 6-1 win in the third set.  He then broke Verdasco once in each of the last two sets.
