A prep basketball standout from the Acadiana area has committed to a school in the midwest.

Billy Francis, Jr., a guard from Lafayette Christian Academy, in Lafayette, gave a verbal pledge this week to Missouri Baptist University, a private Southern Baptist university in Creve Coeur, Missouri.

Francis was offered by MBU back in July

Missouri Baptist is an NAIA school, which do not offer scholarships, but can offer spots on their respective rosters.

The 6-foot-1, Francis, who transferred to LCA from a school in Arkansas prior to the 2018-2019 high school basketball season, is set to graduate this spring.

Francis was also reportedly been offered by such schools as LSU Shreveport, LSU Alexandria, and East Texas Baptist.

Congrats to Francis on his commitment.
