Going into the Mardi Gras parade season I was kind of bummed out. The Friday night parade was no longer. The Krewe Des Chiens parade had also been erased from my annual Marid Gras traditions too. While our Mardi Gras plate was still full, these events especially the dog parade were some of my favorite bites off of that plate.

Enter the Krewe de Canailles and their idea for a downtown Lafayette event that would bring Mardi Gras back closer to the people. This walking parade featured no barricades. The only "floats" were people-powered. The satire was spot on and to say hilarity ensued would be an understatement.

The folks at Lafayette Travel streamed the entire parade on their Facebook page. If you missed it, you really should check out the video. I know it's a long video but it covers the entire parade. You also have the option to fast forward if you just have too.
