Saturdays at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge Will Sound a Little Different, Here’s Why
Saturday nights at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge may sound a little bit different this fall, and the reason is quite simple.
LSU announced on Tuesday that longtime Tiger Stadium public address announcer Dan Borné will be stepping away from the booth to manage several health concerns.
“We are going to miss hearing Dan’s voice fill Tiger Stadium on Saturday nights,” LSU coach Brian Kelly said. “Dan has been a big part of creating the atmosphere and energy in Tiger Stadium. We hope for a speedy recovery for Dan and look forward to his return to the booth in Tiger Stadium.”
How long has Dan Borné been the public address announcer at LSU's Tiger Stadium?
Borné has been LSU's public address announcer in Tiger Stadium for a whopping 38 years.
Borné has also served as the public address announcer for LSU men's basketball games in the Pete Mavarich Assembly Center for the last 36 years.

Borné is hopeful that he can return to his announcer's booth at Tiger Stadium at some point in 2024.
Who will fill in for Dan Borné while he's away?
Tiger Stadium shouldn't have too odd of a "sound" on Saturdays as Bill Franques will be taking over in the interim for Borné.
If that name doesn't sound familiar, the voice should. Franques is the longtime public address announcer for LSU's baseball games at Alex Box Stadium.
