When you think Texas, you probably don't think "Satanic Temple". You probably think about cowboy hats, the Dallas Cowboys, the Alamo, or any of the other stereotypical things that people think about when the Lone Star State crosses their mind. What you might find surprising is how many congregations The Satanic Temple has in Texas.

Is There A Satanic Temple In Texas?

Texas is a big place with a ton of people in it. It would seem almost impossible for there not to be a congregation of The Satanic Temple in the Lone Star State. With this many people and this much space, you have to figure we've got a little bit of everything.

The Satanic Temple (heavy emphasis on the) does have a presence in Texas. Although, it's probably not as spooky as you're inclined to imagine it being. All of those 70s-era exploitation movies really did a number on the public perception of The Satanic Temple. Looking at their websites, they're more into things like freedom of speech, religion, and the ability of someone to have a choice of what happens to their own body.

I feel like a lot of my childhood late Saturday night movie marathons were full of lies. They're more activists than they are robe-wearing dagger-wielding boogeymen.

How Many Congregations Does The Satanic Temple Have In Texas?

This part blew my mind. In Texas, there are four locations for The Satanic Temple. At a glance, it looks like Texas has more than most of the other states and even some countries. You know what they say, everything is bigger in Texas. Apparently, that goes for The Satanic Temple as well.

Where they're located shouldn't come as a surprise. Just look at our major population centers.

  • Dallas/Ft. Worth
  • Houston
  • Austin
  • San Antonio

Of the four congregations of The Satanic Temple that Texas boasts, only Austin and Houston have a rad website. Seriously, Satanists are apparently great at putting websites together.
