It’s Official, Vince McMahon Is Bringing Back The XFL

WWE founder Vince McMahon attempted to compete with the NFL in 2001 when he created the XFL. It lasted only one season, becoming a punchline of jokes ever since.

Despite its failure, McMahon wants to give it another shot.

The billionaire is expected to make a "major announcement" today about the league returning, according to Darren Rovell of ESPN.

It comes as no surprise, as WWE filed paperwork with the Securities and Exchange Commission for McMahon to sell $100 million in WWE stock to fund Alpha Entertainment last December.

The paperwork stated Alpha Entertainment would make investments, listed professional football as one of them.
