Kevin Costner's character Billy Chapel (pictured right) didn't make the cut, but another one of Costner's iconic baseball characters from film did. Obviously I'm talking about Crash Davis from Bull Durham. As a character, he's awesome.
However, if I was fielding a team from the silver screen, I think I'd choose a washed up Jake Taylor from Major League as my catcher. Even though Tom Berenger's acting career has ended up like Taylor's major league career (washed up despite a great performance in Inception), in his prime he was one of the game's best.
