Ah, fantasy football is in the air and it's everyone's favorite day during the week leading up to the games, Waiver Wire Tuesday.

As we did last season I'll be breaking down the best players to add off the waiver wire to your fantasy football rosters on a weekly basis. Maybe there's an injury or a player who's just not performing up to expectations, dump them and find yourself a gem off the waiver wire that'll help you dominate.

Also, as a rule of thumb, if you're new to our weekly fantasy football column we don't look at players off the waiver wire who are owned in more than 50% of leagues and we use ESPN.

This week we are officially done with the NFL bye weeks so everyone will have their full complement of players the week before most leagues begin their playoffs. This can work both ways, great for you because you don't have to worry about any of your studs missing the game but also you may have some difficult decisions ahead. For example, you may have a player who is more talented on a week to week basis but is facing a tough match-up and another player not as talented but with a great match-up. What to do, what to do?

In addition, to adding players this week you have to look at where you are in the standings if you're in the playoffs, out of the playoffs, or squarely on the bubble.

Happy hunting.

QUARTERBACKS:

Sam Darnold, NYJ @ CIN (19% Owned)

Our weekly Sam Darnold love as I can't believe he's not owned in over 20% of ESPN leagues at this point. He's averaging a shade over 25 fantasy points in his last three games and he's got two quality match-ups left on the fantasy schedule before the Jets play the Baltimore Ravens in week fifteen then you'll want no part of Darnold.

Ryan Tannehill, TEN @ IND (15% Owned)

How good has Ryan Tannehill been for the Tennessee Titans since taking over as the starter? Much better than Marcus Mariota that's for sure. He's thrown multiple touchdowns in four of his last five games and over his last five games, he's averaged about 22 and a half fantasy points per game. The only thing I worry a little bit about is that TanneTHRILL has done most of his damage at home as he's only quarterbacked two games on the road this season. The first game at Denver in his first start of the season he put up a measly 4.4 points and at Carolina he went for 23.

RUNNING BACKS:

Benny Snell Jr., PIT vs. CLE (4% Owned)

This Pittsburgh Steelers backfield is more difficult to figure out than what to eat first on Thanksgiving. All last week we heard that Jaylen Samuels was going to be the guy with James Connor still unable to play but instead it was Benny Snell. Snell handled 21 carries to Samuels two so if Connor isn't able to suit up again I guess it's Benny Snell's job but I wouldn't feel 100% comfortable about starting him just yet, see how the week progresses.

Jonathan Williams, IND vs. TEN (29% Owned)

Williams showed out with his opportunity this past week against the Houston Texans as he handled 26 carries for 104 yards and a score. I guess we got our answer about Williams having to share carries with Jordan Wilkins who was healthy last week.

WIDE RECEIVERS:

Russell Gage, ATL vs. NO (4% Owned)

Since the Atlanta Falcons traded Mohammed Sanu and lost tight end Austin Hooper to injury Russell Gage's usage has gone way up and he's actually been producing. The LSU product got ten targets while making eight grabs last Sunday for 76 yards. He's yet to find the end zone so if you're in a deeper league and are in need of a receiver you may want to look for Russell Gage.

Robby Anderson, NYJ @ CIN (45% Owned)

I understand that Anderson isn't the most reliable target to own in fantasy football, he got a lot pub before the season as a guy who was primed to break out but that just didn't happen. Once Darnold went down with mono that kind of spoiled Anderson's value and he's attempting to make a late push at restoring it. He's got two touchdowns in his last two games and had his best game of the season this past week with four catches 86 yards and the score. If you're in a deeper league he could be your target this week in a flex spot.

TIGHT ENDS:

Jake Doyle IND vs. TEN (44% Owned)

For the last two season's it's been a back and forth between Jack Doyle and Eric Ebron at tight end for the Colts. Some weeks Ebron would play well and then the next week would be a Jack Doyle week, it was incredibly frustrating. Now, unfortunately for Ebron, his season has come to a close after being placed on IR but that presents some clarity and paves the way for Doyle to be the main guy for the remainder of the season at tight end. With how confusing the tight end position is every season outside of a couple of guys you should put your faith in Doyle moving forward.

Additional dart throw tight ends:

-Kyle Rudolph MIN @ SEA (39% Owned)

-Dallas Goedert PHI @ MIA (38% Owned)

-Ryan Griffin NYJ @ CIN (25% Owned)

Best of luck in week thirteen.
