Duke Tops AP Preseason Top 25 College Basketball Poll
The Associated Press released their preseason top 25 on Monday, and Duke, to no one's surprise, is the top team in the land.
The Blue Devils, who return All-American Grayson Allen, and a wealth of talent from a team that went 25-11 a season ago, advancing to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament, before being eliminated by Oregon, received 58 of a possible 65 first-place votes.
The Kentucky Wildcats, who went 27-9 last year, and received two first-place votes, checks in at number two.
Kansas is ranked third. The Jayhawks, went 33-5 in the 2015-2016 season.
The Villanova Wildcats, the defending national champions, who received four first-place votes, are ranked fourth in the poll.
The Oregon Ducks, coming off of a 31-win campaign, round out the top five.
North Carolina, Xavier, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Arizona are ranked 6-10, respectively.
At 11-15, it's Indiana, Michigan St., Louisville, Gonzaga, and Purdue, followed by UCLA, St. Mary's, Connecticut, Syracuse, and West Virginia at 16-20.
Finally, at 21-25, it's Texas, Creighton, Rhode Island, Iowa St., and Maryland, respectively.
