Court Upholds NFL’s 6 Game Suspension for Cowboys’ Ezekiel Elliott
The Dallas Cowboys are 2-3, limping into their bye week after having their hearts ripped out by Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers for the second time in as many years. Now, they've received even more bad news.
This afternoon, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans has sided with the National Football League and has also granted a stay for the injunction that had been delaying Elliott’s six-game suspension, according to the Associated Press.
This decision clears the way for the Cowboys talented tailback to begin serving his suspension after the teams Week 6 bye. The suspension was due to domestic violence allegations against Zek.
Now, there could still be some more to this case, I'm sure Elliott's side isn't going to accept this decision and attempt to re-file the case in a New York federal court. In addition, there's always a possibility that his camp could get yet another injunction before the team returns to action in Week 7 against the San Francisco 49ers.
If he does end up serving the 6 game suspension beginning in Week 7 he would miss two divisional games against the Washington Redskins (10-29-17) and Philadelphia Eagles (11-19-17). The other teams that he would miss out playing against would be, the 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Falcons, and Los Angeles Chargers.
Stay tuned for the latest details on the case to see if Ezekiel Elliott will in fact serve that 6 game suspension this year.
