Bulls Beat The Heat
The Chicago Bulls took Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals Sunday night, defeating the Miami Heat 103-82. League MVP Derrick Rose led the Bulls with 28 points. Heat forward Chris Bosh had 30 points and 9 rebounds in a losing effort. Here is more from the AP and espn.com.
Derrick Rose scored 28 points, Luol Deng contained LeBron James and the Chicago Bulls struck first in the Eastern Conference finals, pulling away to beat the Miami Heat 103-82 in Game 1 on Sunday night. The Bulls are off to a good start in this series after sweeping the Heat during the regular season. They went on a 10-0 run midway through the third quarter, then pulled away in the fourth. As the final minutes ticked away, fans could not contain themselves, chanting "Over-rated!" and "Beat the Heat!"
It was an impressive victory by the Bulls. Coach Tom Thibodeau exploited the weak bench of the Miami Heat. The Bulls also locked down on defense in the second half, dictating the pace of the game with their halfcourt offense and protecting the basketball. As a result, Miami could not muster many fast break points.
