West Has Successful ACL Surgery
New Orleans Hornets power forward David West underwent successful ACL reconstruction surgery yesterday in New York. Doctors have told West his rehab could last anywhere from 6 to 10 months. Here is more from Jimmy Smith of the Times Picayune and nola.com.
"After his injury, David understood the importance of getting his knee ready for surgery," said Hornets/Ochsner orthopedist Dr. Scott Montgomery in a team release. "Our training staff did a terrific job of helping David get the swelling down and regain his motion. We're thankful that David had a successful surgery and know that his hard work will make his rehabilitation process go well."

That explains why West waited 19 days since the injury occured to undergo surgery. David said he plans to attack his rehab with a fighter mentality and work hard to come back as soon as possible.
