#23 Boise State and Boston College spent a large part of their Christmas break in Dallas, preparing to play in the SERVEPRO First Responders Bowl.

The game kicked off at 11:30am, and Boston College took an early 7-0 lead.

Unfortunately for both schools, lightning struck through the sky and the game went into a weather delay with 5:08 left in the first quarter.

The lighting never let up, and at 2:21pm the game was officially canceled and ruled a no contest.

It's unclear at this time who made the final decision to cancel the contest.

It's tough news for many seniors on both teams, who get short changed in the final game of their careers.
